Formulation Tips

The typical usage rate is 2–10% of the total formula:

To incorporate, add AccessQUAT BTMS50 flakes/pellets to your oil phase (oils, butters, and other oil-soluble ingredients) and heat to 75–80°C (167–176°F) until fully melted. Heat your water phase separately to the same temperature. With moderate to high shear, slowly add the hot water phase to the melted oil phase to form the emulsion. Continue mixing while cooling to develop viscosity and stability. Add heat-sensitive ingredients (e.g., preservatives, fragrances, actives) during cool-down below 40°C (104°F).
