How to Use AccessPON CM in Your Formulations
Understanding AccessPON CM
AccessPON CM is a gentle cleansing ingredient that creates a rich, creamy lather without stripping the skin or hair. If you’re building sulfate-free or sensitive-skin formulas, this is a go-to ingredient for making products that feel mild yet still clean effectively.
Technically, AccessPON CM (INCI: Sodium Cocoamphoacetate) is an amphoteric surfactant derived from coconut fatty acids. Amphoterics carry both positive and negative charges depending on pH, which gives them excellent compatibility with other surfactants and helps reduce the irritation potential of stronger anionics. It’s widely used as a primary cleanser in ultra-mild systems or as a secondary surfactant to boost foam, improve creaminess, and enhance overall mildness.
Formulation Tips
Typical usage is 1–20% of the total formula. Use 1–10% as a co-surfactant to increase foam and reduce harshness in shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers. Use 10–20% as the primary surfactant in ultra-mild systems such as sensitive-skin face washes and baby products.
AccessPON CM is water-soluble and easy to process. Add it to the water phase and mix at room temperature or gentle heat. It performs well across a broad pH window (approximately 4.5–8.5) and is compatible with anionic, nonionic, and cationic ingredients, giving you excellent flexibility when building multi-surfactant systems.
