How to Use AccessMINE MO in Your Formulations
Understanding AccessMINE MO
AccessMINE MO is a multi-functional surfactant that makes your cleansers work better and feel more luxurious. It creates rich, creamy foam, helps thicken your formulas, and adds a light conditioning feel to skin and hair. It’s an easy way to boost performance in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, hand soaps, and bubble baths.
For the formulator, AccessMINE MO (INCI: Myristyl Amine Oxide) is a tertiary amine oxide surfactant that acts as a co-surfactant, foam booster, viscosity enhancer, and mild cleanser. In mixed surfactant systems, it stabilizes foam and builds viscosity—often in synergy with electrolytes—while reducing the irritation potential of stronger anionics. It delivers excellent lather quality, viscosity control, and improved sensory without heavy reliance on additional thickeners.
Formulation Tips
Use AccessMINE MO at 1–8% depending on role and desired effect. For typical secondary surfactant/foam-booster roles, 1–5% is common; for systems where it contributes more primary cleansing or significant thickening, use the higher end of the range.
Add to the water phase alongside other surfactants. For easier processing and foam control, it can also be added during cool-down. It is water-soluble and broadly compatible with anionic, non-ionic, and amphoteric systems. To build viscosity efficiently, incrementally add sodium chloride (or your chosen electrolyte) near the end of processing while monitoring flow and clarity. Target skin-friendly pH ranges to optimize mildness in rinse-off products.
Key Formulation Benefits
- Creamy, Stable Foam: Produces dense, resilient lather for a premium cleansing experience.
- Viscosity Building: Efficiently thickens surfactant systems, often reducing the need for separate rheology modifiers.
- Mild Cleansing: Helps reduce irritation from harsher surfactants to create gentler, more balanced formulas.
- Light Conditioning: Leaves hair and skin feeling soft and smooth after rinse-off.
- Versatile Co‑Surfactant: Enhances performance across shampoos, body washes, hand soaps, facial cleansers, and bath products.
- Formulation Flexibility: Works across a wide pH window and with common surfactant types.
