How to Use AccessMILD GCK30 in Your Formulations
What AccessMILD GCK30 Does
Think of the difference between a harsh, bubbly dish soap and a creamy, gentle face wash. That difference often comes down to the type of cleansing agent, or “surfactant,” used. AccessMILD GCK30 is a premium, mild surfactant that allows you to create cleansers with a luxurious feel. It does the essential job of cleaning away dirt and oil but is exceptionally gentle on the skin and hair.
Its primary role is to lower the surface tension of water, allowing it to mix with oils and dirt so they can be washed away. But unlike traditional surfactants like sulfates (SLS/SLES), which can be harsh and stripping, AccessMILD GCK30 is based on glycine, a gentle amino acid. This structure results in a cleanser that respects the skin’s natural barrier, preventing that tight, dry feeling after washing. For the chemist, this is an anionic amino acid surfactant that provides excellent detergency while mitigating irritation potential, making it ideal for formulating high-end, sulfate-free systems. The result is a dense, creamy, and remarkably stable foam that consumers love.
Formulation Tips
AccessMILD GCK30 is versatile and easy to use. For a gentle co-surfactant to boost foam and mildness in an existing formula, use it at 3-10%. As the primary cleansing agent in a facial cleanser or body wash, you can use it in the range of 10-30%.
This ingredient is a water-soluble liquid, so you will add it to the water phase of your formulation. It is cold-process compatible, meaning you don’t need to heat your formula to incorporate it, which saves time and energy. Simply stir it into your water phase until uniform.
For best performance and stability, aim for a final product pH between 6.0 and 9.0. AccessMILD GCK30 works wonderfully in combination with other surfactants. You can pair it with non-ionic surfactants like glucosides for even milder formulas, or with amphoteric surfactants like Cocamidopropyl Betaine to enhance foam volume and viscosity. This synergy allows you to create sophisticated cleansing systems tailored to your exact needs.
