AccessMILD CT-130 is a gentle, amino-acid-based surfactant that creates rich, creamy foam while cleansing effectively. If you’re new to formulating, think of it as the ingredient that helps water lift away oils and impurities without leaving skin or hair feeling tight or dry. It makes sulfate-free products feel luxurious and satisfying to use.
For the technical formulator, AccessMILD CT-130 (INCI: TEA-Cocoyl Glutamate) is a weakly acidic, amino-acid-derived anionic surfactant produced from coconut fatty acids and glutamic acid. It provides excellent foam boosting, mild cleansing, and solubilization of oils and fragrances. It is ideal for gentle facial cleansers, shampoos, and body washes, and is particularly useful in sulfate-free systems where dense, stable lather and low irritation are required. Optimal performance is typically achieved in formulas adjusted to pH ~5.0–6.5.
Formulation Tips
Use AccessMILD CT-130 at 2–20%, depending on its role. At 2–8%, it excels as a co-surfactant to boost foam quality, reduce irritation, and improve fragrance solubilization. At 10–20%, it can serve as a primary surfactant for ultra-mild cleansers and shampoos.
Add AccessMILD CT-130 to the water phase. It is fully water-dispersible and compatible with most non-ionic and amphoteric surfactants (e.g., betaines) for synergistic mildness and foam. Target a finished pH between 5.0 and 6.5 for best stability and sensory profile. For complex systems, you may incorporate it in the cool-down once the batch is below ~40°C (104°F) to protect sensitive co-ingredients.
