Its primary job is conditioning. Hair naturally has a negative electrical charge, which can get worse when it’s damaged, causing strands to repel each other and create frizz and tangles. AccessGUAR CLEAR is “cationic,” meaning it has a positive charge. It is drawn to the negative charges on your hair like a magnet, creating a very fine, smooth coating on the hair shaft. This neutralizes static, flattens the hair cuticle, and provides instant detangling and softness—all without the heavy feeling of some silicones.

Its second job is thickening. It efficiently increases the viscosity of water-based formulas, turning thin liquids into rich gels and lotions.
