How to Use AccessCIDE BGC in Your Formulations
Understanding AccessCIDE BGC
Any product that contains water (like a lotion, cream, or serum) can become a breeding ground for bacteria, yeast, and mold. A preservative’s job is to protect your formula and keep it safe for consumers. AccessCIDE BGC is a natural, effective preservation system designed to do exactly that.
Rather than relying on a single synthetic chemical, AccessCIDE BGC combines complementary natural components that work together. Its core is Lactobacillus Ferment, a probiotic-derived ingredient that helps create conditions that are unfriendly to harmful microbes. This is reinforced by botanical extracts such as Garlic (traditionally recognized for antimicrobial activity), Green Tea (a potent antioxidant), and Lemon Fruit Extract. Together, they protect the formula while delivering added skin benefits like antioxidant support and soothing. The blend also includes components that can inhibit elastase (an enzyme that contributes to loss of skin elasticity), offering a functional anti-aging boost.
Formulation Tips
Use AccessCIDE BGC at 2% to 4% of your total formula. A practical starting point for most lotions and creams is 3%. Choose the higher end of the range for high-water products or those rich in nutrients (e.g., honey, botanical extracts) that microbes favor.
Because it is heat-sensitive, add AccessCIDE BGC during the cool-down phase once your batch is below 40°C (104°F). Adding it while hot can reduce efficacy. Stir gently until fully incorporated. It is water-soluble and works best in systems with pH 4–7, which fits most skin and hair care formats. As with any preservation system, always confirm performance with a Preservative Efficacy Test (challenge test) on the final formulation.
