Performance & Formulation Insights for GlassMira GRV88
Fine Green-Red-Violet Interference on Borosilicate Glass
GlassMira GRV88 is the fine-grade member of the GRV (Green-Red-Violet) interference series, built on a calcium aluminum borosilicate substrate. Thin-film coatings of Titanium Dioxide and Tin Oxide generate a vivid multichrome color travel that shifts between green, red, and violet depending on the viewing angle. The borosilicate glass substrate provides higher transparency and a more vivid interference effect than traditional mica-based pigments.
The 30–100 µm particle range is optimized for smooth, even application with refined shimmer. Compared to the coarser GRV86 (50–200 µm) and medium GRV87 (40–150 µm), GRV88 delivers the smoothest texture and best blendability while maintaining the signature green-red-violet color travel.
Formulation Advantages of the Fine Grade
The fine particle distribution ensures excellent dispersibility in both pressed powder and wet formulations. In pressed eyeshadows, GRV88 provides superior cake integrity and smooth color laydown with minimal fallout, making it the most formulator-friendly grade in the GRV series.
In cream, liquid, and gel systems, the smaller particles disperse evenly without settling or streaking, producing a refined multichrome shimmer that is suitable for everyday-wear products as well as editorial applications. The borosilicate substrate’s glass-like transparency ensures the interference colors remain vivid even at lower concentrations.
Key Benefits for Formulators
- Smooth Multichrome Shimmer: Fine 30–100 µm particles deliver refined green-red-violet color travel with excellent blendability.
- Vivid Interference Colors: Borosilicate glass substrate provides higher transparency and more vivid color shift than mica-based alternatives.
- Versatile Formulation: Disperses evenly in pressed powder, cream, liquid, and gel systems for wide formulation flexibility.
- Clean Beauty Compliance: Ferro-free, carmine-free, vegan, and cruelty-free for modern clean beauty standards.
- Complete the GRV Series: Pairs with GRV86 and GRV87 to offer formulators a full range of green-red-violet particle sizes.
