Performance & Formulation Insights for Aqua-ProVita D3
How Pro-Vitamin D3 Works
Aqua-ProVita D3 delivers 7-Dehydrocholesterol (7-DHC), the natural precursor to Vitamin D3 found in the skin. In the epidermis, UVB radiation converts 7-DHC into Vitamin D3, a critical signaling molecule that supports keratinocyte differentiation, lipid barrier formation, and innate immunity. Because 7-DHC is inherently unstable and oil-soluble, it is challenging to formulate in conventional systems. Aqua-ProVita D3 resolves this with a Methyl Cyclodextrin encapsulation that shields 7-DHC from degradation and renders it water-soluble for easy incorporation. This delivery system creates a stable, bioavailable reservoir of 7-DHC that the skin can utilize to produce Vitamin D3 as needed, enhancing its natural defense, repair, and regeneration processes.
Formulation Guidelines
Aqua-ProVita D3 is a user-friendly, viscous liquid designed for the water phase of formulations. For optimal stability, add during the cool-down phase below 40°C (104°F). It is stable in a pH range of 5.0–7.0 and is readily compatible with serums, toners, emulsions, gels, and gentle cleansers without the need for complex solubilizers.
Key Formulation Benefits
