Performance & Formulation Insights for AccessCARE Argine FE
How Arginine Works
Arginine is a semi-essential amino acid integral to skin and hair health. As a humectant and a component of the skin’s Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF), it captures and holds water to maintain epidermal hydration. Beyond moisturization, Arginine serves as a precursor to urea and ornithine, supporting optimal hydration balance and aiding skin repair. It also plays a vital role in protein synthesis, including collagen, helping maintain elasticity and firmness. Additionally, Arginine contributes antioxidant defense, helping neutralize free radicals from environmental stressors.
Formulation Guidelines
AccessCARE Argine FE is a highly water-soluble crystalline powder that incorporates easily into the water phase. While stable across a broad pH range, Arginine is alkaline, making it useful for neutralizing acidic solutions or gently raising the pH of formulations to a skin-friendly range (typically 5.0–6.5), often replacing harsher bases like sodium hydroxide. Recommended usage is 0.5%–5% as a skin or hair active. It is compatible with a wide array of cosmetic ingredients, including other amino acids, vitamins, and botanical extracts.
